Avanade launches sustainability tool

Microsoft solutions provider Avanade has launched a new sustainability service aimed at helping organisations take practical steps to reduce the carbon footprint of their IT infrastructure and operations.

The Avanade Green IT Enabler has been developed in response to the company’s recent research, which found that 51% of Australian organisations believe that digital innovation is very important to achieving ESG sustainability objectives.

The solution combines Avanade’s existing Sustainability Technology Accelerator and Sustainability Quick-Start services to form a comprehensive service that will enable businesses to reduce resource consumption and champion sustainability throughout their technical ecosystems.

The carbon accounting tool enables organisations to track and assess their sustainability progress, and can be seamlessly integrated with various IT systems to help identify carbon-inefficient systems and optimise them with green software engineering processes.

Avanade Regional Data and AI Lead and Sustainability Executive for Australia Lourens Swanepel said to commence a sustainable technology journey, organisations must first gain an understanding of their carbon impact.

“There is a strong appetite for innovative tech solutions to drive Australian organisations’ sustainability targets. It will be critical for more Aussie businesses to leverage digital technologies that can help them meet their ESG targets while supporting their overall business goals and meeting government regulations,” he said.

“With Avanade’s Green IT Enabler, we are uniquely positioned to help organisations drive long-term value and achieve their goals by optimising resource consumption.”
