Clevertar, ResApp Health win Talent Unleashed awards
Australian health IT companies Clevertar and ResApp Health and New Zealand’s oDocs have won recognition in the 2016 Talent Unleashed Awards.
A judging panel lead by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak selected the companies from a pool of applicants from APAC and Europe.
Clevertar secured the Best Start-up — Tech Innovation award for its work providing “clever avatars”, or digital assistance, to healthcare environments.
The award for Best Start-up — Social Impact meanwhile went to oDocs for its work focused on the development and distribution of affordable smartphone-based attachments that optometrists can use to provide low-cost eye exams.
ResApp Health, which develops smartphone applications for the diagnosis and management of respiratory disease, meanwhile won the Best Tech IPO or Venture Capital Raising award.
Resapp Health was listed on the ASX during a $4 million raising in July 2015 and raised a further $12.5 million in April this year during a placement.
The awards also recognised the UK’s Therapy Box, which provides speech and communications solutions on mobile devices, while DBS APAC’s Innovation Group leader Neal Cross took the title of Most Disruptive CIO/CTO.
“The Talent Unleashed awards represent people who have had ideas, started companies and created products that either do good for society, help people and give us more in our life,” Wozniak commented. He has been supporting the awards for the past three years.
The five winners will travel to Silicon Valley for an exclusive tour of major technology companies and receive individual time with Steve Wozniak as part of their prize.
