Epson intelligent business scanners launched

Two intelligent sheet-fed WorkForce document scanners have been released by Epson.

The WorkForce DS-570W and DS-530 are geared towards simple integration into an organisation’s workflow.

The devices can scan at up to 35 ppm/70 ipm, meaning that they offer a range of media handling options that enable users to rapidly capture, index, store and share business-critical documents.

“Intelligent features improve efficiency, accuracy and data reliability, and whether you’re scanning documents as long as six metres, paper as thin as 27 gsm or card as thick as 413 gsm, you can rely on these models for rapid document processing,” said Bruce Bealby, Epson Australia general manager of sales and marketing.

Custom designed to handle important documents, from business cards and plastic ID cards to extra-long documents, the scanners incorporate DSC (dynamic skew correction) and a sophisticated multiroller paper feed design. The ultrasonic sensor allows double feed detection to help avoid misfeeds, while auto document size detection makes it easier to scan multiple sizes in a single stack.

Automatic feeding mode enables users to scan originals of different sizes, in any order, into one PDF, while double feed detection skip allows scanning to resume after a feeding error occurs.

An optional flatbed conversion kit enables a wide range of media to be scanned effectively, such as postage stamps, passports, books and more. This option is available for both models when using USB 3.0 connectivity.

There is also wireless connectivity on the WorkForce DS-570W, so documents can easily be scanned to mobile, tablet and Wi-Fi-enabled workstations. It is possible to scan directly to online storage accounts including Dropbox, SharePoint, FileBound and more.

The WorkForce DS-570W and DS-530 are available now from selected Epson resellers and retailers.
