Experts to discuss secure board strategies in podcast
Over the next few months, Australian cybersecurity experts will feature in a series of podcasts focused on shoring up company boards against cyber threats.
The In Pursuit of the Secure Board Podcast, which launched in late 2021, has lined up a stable of guests to provide Australian company directors and executives with relevant and timely information to enhance their understanding of cyber risk.
Next Wednesday, Western Sydney University professor of cybersecurity and behaviour will discuss free cybersecurity response centres, research into global cybercrime investigations, online fraud and money laundering.
In March, expert guests will include Marcus Thompson, former Australian Army leader and director of Cyber Compass, while in April guests will include Tesserent non-executive director Megan Haas and Governance By Design director Sonya Beyers.
Co-host Claire Pales said the podcasts are an extension of the book she penned with co-author Anna Leibel, the Secure Board Book.
“[The podcast] fills an important gap for ongoing continuous learning for company directors. The challenges they now face require much more than a once- or twice-a-year deep dive into cybersecurity and then nothing,” she said.
“We provide practical tips on how organisations can navigate the constantly evolving cyber risk environment and delve into hot topics such as going beyond compliance and governance to strategy and resilience,” Leibel added.
