Greenbox to expand to NZ after acquring Recytech
Australian technology asset lifecycle management company Greenbox is set to expand into the New Zealand (NZ) market after acquiring Auckland-based information technology (IT) asset disposal company Recytech.
The move follows increasing pressures from Greenbox’s finance, vendor and global IT asset disposition partners to provide its full range of services — including IT asset preparation, configuration, deployment and data security as well as sustainable e-waste disposal — in NZ.
Greenbox Founder and Director Shane Mulholland said, “We had explored a number of options to enable expansion into New Zealand and acquiring Recytech was the logical step.”
Mulholland added that Greenbox and Recytech’s history go back 10 years and that they “know the people well”.
Under the deal, Greenbox will invest in Recytech, maintaining existing roles and determining how to create a national service — either through organic growth or additional acquisitions, according to Greenbox CEO Daniel Pritchard.
Recytech Director Paul Beattie believes the move will provide “a considerable enhancement of our service offering following a systems upgrade”.
Greenbox currently holds R2 (Responsible Recycling), ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards accreditation in Australia and aims to bring the NZ business up to the same standard.
“Recytech has been working with companies such as IBM and Flexigroup for a number of years and is a leader in its field in New Zealand,” Pritchard said.
“We look forward to learning about the specific needs of the New Zealand market from the Recytech team and to expand its service offering,” he concluded.
