Job marketplace Hired launches in Australia
Online job search network Hired has launched in the Australian market, opening a new regional headquarters in Melbourne.
The new office is expected to create 20 new jobs in the city over the next two years.
Hired has developed a job searching marketplace designed to give candidates greater control by providing upfront transparency around salary and equity. Job hunters can also use the platform to field offers from companies looking to hire, and employers can connect with eligible candidates in their field.
More than 550 companies have already joined the Hired network in Australia, including Uber and Canva. Over 17,500 candidates have also signed up.
Hired launched in the US in 2012 and now has offices in six markets — Australia, the US, UK, France, Canada and Singapore.
“Hired’s decision to open its Australia and New Zealand headquarters in Melbourne confirms our reputation as a leading global location for tech and business investment,” Victoria’s Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade Philip Dalidakis said.
“Victoria has more tech graduates than anywhere else in the country and having Hired’s innovative jobs platform focusing on high-skill roles will be a significant driver of more jobs and better jobs for Victorians into the future.”
He said Victoria’s technology industry now generates over $34 billion in annual revenue and employs more than 91,000 people.
