Riverbed launches AI observability platform

Riverbed Technology has launched an AI-powered observability platform designed to help enterprises optimise digital experiences for users.

The Riverbed platform has been upgraded with capabilities designed to help IT teams overcome visibility blind spots around public cloud, Zero Trust and SD-WAN architectures, and remote work environments.

The platform collects data across the entire technology stack, including networks, IT infrastructure, applications, user experience, endpoints and cloud, in order to ensure precise AI outcomes. The data as well as data collected from third parties is then applied into an AI operations engine for analytics and correlation, including root cause identification and automated remediations.

Reporting can either occur through Riverbed’s own dashboards, or through integration with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow.

Meanwhile Riverbed has launched a new mobile-centric platform, Aternity Mobile, to allow IT to monitor enterprise-owned Apple iOS and Android mobile device performance to proactively identify and address digital experience issues. The monitoring tool can help solve what was previously a major visibility gap on device performance and user experience, Riverbed said.

The company has also launched Riverbed IQ 2.0, an AI operations service designed to reduce alert fatigue and allow IT teams to use AI-driven correlation to more rapidly identify and solve issues. The platform takes advantage of an expanding library of 170 pre-built triggered Aternity remediations, application integration and tools to allow IT teams to create customised remediations.

Other new product launches include Riverbed NetProfiler, which delivers real-time visibility into network traffic and application performance, as well as Riverbed NPM+, the first in a series of planned Software-as-a-Service delivered network performance management services.

Riverbed CEO Dave Donatelli said the new capabilities have been developed to help customers meet challenges involved with improving the digital experience, simplifying their management environment and implementing AI that works and scales.

“Riverbed has invested in our core competencies of data collection and AI, and today we’re launching the most advanced AI-powered observability platform to optimise digital experiences, along with solutions that provide new levels of visibility into network blind spots and enterprise-owned mobile devices,” he said. “This is Riverbed’s largest product launch in years, and all of these solutions are available now. Great AI starts with great data, and our platform and visibility solutions provide IT with full fidelity and real data that is the most comprehensive in the industry, along with an AIOps engine that uses AI automation to remediate issues faster, often without human intervention.”
