Secure Logic names new head of Innovation Centre

Secure Logic has appointed Dmitry Samokhvalov as the head of its Product & Engineering Innovation Centre. The role will see Samokhvalov build and expand on developments from Secure Logic’s Innovation Centre that are set to be launched in the Australian and international market in 2021.

Samokhvalov previously worked as Engineering Manager at Atlassian, and has over 15 years’ commercial experience in software development, information security and cryptography. Samokhvalov also led the engineering of Atlassian’s Bitbucket Cloud, and was responsible for the cloud version of Jira.

In his new role, Samokhvalov will lead the ongoing development and engineering of projects from Secure Logic’s Innovation Centre. Santosh Devaraj, CEO of Secure Logic, welcomed Samokhvalov’s appointment, adding that he will build on the company’s capabilities and drive its mandate to build ‘resilient-by-design’ innovative products and cybersecurity solutions for the local and international market.

“Dmitry brings significant industry and commercial expertise to the Secure Logic Group. We have many exciting projects launching in the coming months and I have complete confidence Dmitry will add immense value to our expertise,” Devaraj said.

Secure Logic’s Innovation Centre is set to accelerate the digital capabilities of services and identity ecosystems, through technology, which power significant Australian government initiatives, including the NSW Government’s Digital Drivers Licence, GovDC and the NSW remote electronic voting system, iVote.

On his appointment with Secure Logic, Samokhvalov said he was intrigued by the company’s flagship projects and impressed with the IP they are creating.

“I strongly believe in the quality and potential of our upcoming products; we are not just playing with technology, we are solving real-world problems. It is also clear to me that our CEO Santosh Deveraj is committed to true innovation and is prepared to challenge conventional thinking, so it marks an exciting time in my career. I look forward to leading some of the new projects we are launching to market in the coming months,” Samokhvalov said.

Dmitry Samokhvalov commenced his role at Secure Logic on Monday, 8 February 2021.
