Epson’s WorkForce ES-500WR document scanner is designed to help small businesses and home users organise and share financial documents, receipts and invoices. 

It comes with the company’s ScanSmart Accounting Edition software, which can automatically extract and export receipt and invoice data to QuickBooks Online or Excel to try and reduce the need for manual entry or the possibility of human error. The software also has an automatic file naming and receipt recognition tool, which can identify information such as vendor names and logos and aims to streamline data storage and retrieval.  

The device can wirelessly scan two-sided reports, business cards and receipts to PC and Mac laptops, tablets, smartphones and cloud storage accounts. It can also create, convert and assemble searchable PDFs using Nuance Power PDF software for Windows and PDF converter for Mac. The PDFs can be annotated, highlighted and redacted as needed. 

The device has ultrasonic double-feed detection to prevent missing pages and dynamic skew correction. It can scan up to 35 pages or 70 impressions per minute and has a 50-page automatic document feeder. It includes TWAIN drivers for integration with most document management software.
