Fast, reliable internet for regional WA
The Mount Magnet community in WA will receive fast and reliable internet, thanks to a new tower recently announced by NodeOne, a subsidiary of infrastructure service provider Swoop.
Mount Magnet is a remote mining town in Western Australia, 340 km from Geraldton, with a community of 398 dwellings which is currently running on NBN satellite services. The region has been starved of fast and reliable internet until now, with NodeOne promising better connectivity as a result of the build.
The tower, going live on 1 October, will supply the shire with an upgrade of provision 1 Gbps wavelength into the shire library office.
“It’s amazing to see this sort of infrastructure being introduced into a rural community like Mount Magnet. It is such a beautiful part of the world, and bringing this sort of internet speed offers the shire an opportunity to be connected with the rest of the world in a way we’ve never been able to before,” said Tralee Cable, CEO of Mount Magnet Shire.
