Wi-Fi analytics company Skyfii announces US win
Australian guest Wi-Fi and data analytics company Skyfii will work with Cincinnati Bell in the US to provide free Wi-Fi throughout the city of Cincinnati.
Skyfii’s guest Wi-Fi analytics and intelligent marketing engagement services will support Cincinnati Bell’s ongoing Light Up Cincinnati campaign, which involves deploying a growing network of free fibre-based high-speed Wi-Fi services at venues throughout the city. The tools will also support the Connect Cincinnati mobile marketing app.
Cincinnati Bell offers its Fioptics Free Wi-Fi service at hundreds of access points across Greater Cincinnati, and plans to increase this to thousands through 2017.
The telecommunications company plans to start integrating Skyfii services into its Wi-Fi access points later this year. The access points are provided by HPE’s Aruba Networks.
“We hear about the concept of smart cities all the time — it’s initiatives such as this that help turn concept into reality,” Skyfii CEO Wayne Arthur said.
“Our services, integrated with Cincinnati Bell’s Fioptics Free Wi-Fi services, will help provide a reliable marketing and communication platform for local events, advertising and local businesses to promote their goods and services.”
He said the contract represents a significant win for Skyfii in North America and opens up opportunities for expansion into other Cincinnati Bell service areas.
