Dell enhances Dell AI Factory with AMD support
Dell Technologies has expanded its Dell AI Factory solution by adding PowerEdge servers tailored for AMD environments, in a bid to accelerate enterprise AI adoption.
The new additions include the Dell PowerEdge XE7745, which supports up to eight double-width or 16 single-width PCIe GPUs with AMD 5th Generation EPYC processors, as well as the PowerEdge R6725 and R7725 servers, which are optimised for scalability. Dell says all three platforms can support up to 50% more cores than prior generations, with up to 37% increased performance per core.
In addition, the PowerEdge R6715 and R7715 servers with AMD 5th Gen EPYC processors are said to offer increased performance and efficiency, as well as up to 37% increased drive capacity.
Other enhancements to the Dell Factory include Dell Generative AI Solutions with AMD, which use the Dell PowerEdge XE9680 server with AMD Instinct accelerators to support AI inferencing, retrieval augmented generation and customisation; and an expansion of Dell Professional Services for Generative AI to support AMD environments.
One such expanded service includes the Dell Implementation Services for GenAI Platform with AMD, which is designed to provide a tailored operational platform with support for Kubernetes configurations.
The President of Dell Technologies’ Infrastructure Solutions Group, Arthur Lewis, said integrating AMD technology into the latest Dell servers, AI solutions and services will provide enterprise users with the performance and efficiency they need.
“Together with AMD, we are setting new standards in AI performance, giving enterprises powerful and cost-effective solutions essential for modern data-driven environments,” he said.
