OVHCloud launches new bare metal servers
OVHCloud has launched a range of dedicated high grade bare metal servers aimed at demanding, mission-critical and sensitive workloads.
The servers use Intel Xeon Gold 5th generation processors, allowing them to benefit from Intel TDX technology and new built-in accelerators for improved performance. They are also built based on Intel Emerald Rapids microarchitecture for more compute and faster memory.
The servers consist of three variants, including the HGR-HCI line-up aimed at hyperconverged infrastructures, which use Xeon Gold processors in a dual-processor configuration and feature 256 GB of base DDR5 memory and storage, starting with dual 960 GB SSD storage.
The HGR-SDS line-up targets software-defined storage infrastructure. The range also uses Xeon Gold chips in dual-processor configuration, and are loaded with 256 GB of DDR5 memory configurable to up to 1.5 TB. Storage options include 3.84 TB, 7.68 TB or 15.36 TB.
Finally, the HGR-STOR heavy storage variants use an Intel Xeon Gold chip in a single processor configuration, come with 128 GB of DDR5 configurable to up to 768 GB, and storage of up to 792 TB.
All three server variants support 1 Gb/s to 10 Gb/s public bandwidth and up to 25 Gb/s of unmetered private bandwidth.
OVHCloud Chief Product Technology Officer Yaniv Fdida said the new servers represent the company’s highest capacity solutions.
“We are thrilled to refresh our most advanced solutions with the latest and greatest x86 CPU options in configurations that address the many needs of our customers, from solving hyper-converged infrastructures challenges to addressing the ever-growing needs for storage — all with the benefits of our trusted cloud offering an unmatched performance-price ratio,” he said.
