Ricoh Australia has released its Flex Series, featuring an integrated cloud platform that connects users of compatible office multifunction devices (MFD) to 15 popular cloud services without requiring any on-site software.
Accessed through the Ricoh Smart Operation Panel (SOP) touch screen — similar to other smart device touch-screen interfaces — the cloud services range from file storage and collaboration services, to document management sites and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, to enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
The next-generation office technology brings some of the usability, connectivity and functionality of mobile devices to multifunction printers. The combination of the Flex Series devices, smart panel and integrated cloud provides a way to get business documents to cloud services by using familiar touch-screen gestures with the multifunction device, instead of having to scan and send the documents via email or a network drive.
The solution also includes in-cloud OCR capabilities so that users can create searchable, editable files via the smart operation touch panel.
