IDS to distribute LightRiver's netFLEX
Sydney-based value-added distributor Independent Data Solutions (IDS) has partnered with LightRiver for the distribution of the latter’s network automation platform, netFLEX, in Australia and New Zealand.
netFLEX is designed to help customers address the complexities of managing disparate optical transport networks, suppliers and technologies. The platform enables the agnostic management of optical transport networks to ensure interoperability without vendor lock-in.
IDS CTO Iain Ashley said the technology is a potential game changer. “There is nothing like this in Australia,” he said.
“Where businesses benefit the most is significant cost avoidance, multi-vendor and multi-technology support, operational scalability and new revenue enablement. For example, network fault identification — a task that normally would take two to three hours to complete — through our collaboration with netFLEX, will reduce it to as little as three minutes.”
netFLEX President of Global Customer Operations Mike Jonas added that the company’s comprehensive transport network automation can be leveraged within any network operator or even extended to partners and customers.
“As leaders who specialise in designing and delivering networking solutions, IDS’s influence in the market, working with government departments and national corporate clients, will accelerate the smart management of network infrastructure,” said Jonas.
“LightRiver looks forward to the next stage and believes that our synergies align well for a dynamic future indeed.”
