McAfee to offer cloud services through new Sydney data centre
McAfee has launched a new data centre in Sydney, giving organisations in Australian and the broader Asia-Pacific region another option for security-as-a-service (SaaS).
Specifically, the data centre will offer the security vendor’s SaaS Email Protection, Continuity and Encryption and SaaS Web Protection services.
McAfee touts the services as a one-stop web and email security solution, requiring customers only to redirect their web traffic through the data centre, where the services will analyse the data.
“With no applications or hardware to install or deploy, the service provides organisations with immediate and reliable security protection,” the company said.
Richard Bowman, Director, Security-as-a-Service at McAfee, said: “Organisations are struggling to cope with the rise in new vulnerabilities due to Web 2.0/mobile technologies and also keen to reduce the cost burden of investing and maintaining their own security infrastructure.
“McAfee’s SaaS solution allows them to take advantage of real-time cloud-based security solutions to protect against threats without any on-premise requirements,” he said.
The data centre and its services will be open to McAfee partners for resale to their own customers.
