DatacomIT forges partnership with Preservica

Digital archiving company Preservica has teamed up with Australia’s DatacomIT to help Australian businesses embrace long-term digital preservation capabilities.

Under the new agreement, DatacomIT will offer consultation and implementation of Preservica’s cloud-hosted editions, a capability for allowing organisations to rethink the way they future-proof and ensure long-term access to critical long-term digital information.

By providing customers with access to Preserverica’s application, DatacomIT will be able to consolidate the core elements of long-term digital preservation — durable storage, file format updates, and the ability to securely and immediately access the data.

DatacomIT already has more than 40 years’ experience providing digitisation and Digital Preservation for galleries, libraries, archives and museums, preserving rare and fragile cultural heritage material including books, microfilm, microfiche, photographs, negatives, slides, maps, and large format material.

DatacomIT GM Eamonn Donohoe said the new partnership will allow the company to take this to the next level. “We can now offer our clients a one-stop shop, from digitisation to Digital Preservation, and assist organisations to develop curation and preservation strategies,” he said.

“This partnership underpins our role as Australia’s industry leader in digitisation and Digital Preservation, fulfilling our mission of securing the past for the future.”

For Preservica, the agreement follows recently announced government partnerships in Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK.
